[Bug]: SABR error on video loading

Looks like Youtube might be trying to change something again on the backend. While not all videos are always showing the error I think it is better to report it just in case

What Happened?

I was watching the video and then it instantly went and reloaded to 360p. I wasn't able to capture it as I tried to exit-enter the video and saw the player reloading. I exited from freetube and then open it again with dev console and watched the same video and was now able to capture the error and log it. I wasn't able to reproduced it again so far so I'll try to look out in the mean time.

I tried watching other videos and wasn't able to recapture the error

I can reproduce nothing from the above videos, will retry on windows machine (but same IP so I doubt...

While the original error for this issue, I still haven't able to reproduced it yet. My bad on that part but I'll still try to look out for it

Is there a way for you to try another network like VPN?
Might be network related
Also is there issue with SABR off?

so I did try a mobile hotspot for my connection and was able to reproduced the problem with the shorts with sabr turned on

when I turned it off, the problem was gone so was when using wifi with sabr turned off too

Nah I think I need a network connection via some other areas (like another country) to see if this is some locations only or global issue (or let me know what countries you have tried so I tried them w/ VPN)

Saw that there was a new build

and tried it out and there was a new error on the first load, immediately tested out the next short and saw the 360p again

Tried all 3 countries (on macOS) and all 3 videos and cannot reproduce yet
Could be YT AB testing something but no idea based on what

It seems you have error when generating session data (encode and int32 together)
Which is an upstream code and I cannot report it without being able to reproduce

Same for other 2 files

So I am not sure if the OS or electron updates or both and more to be the cause of the issue
I think it's less likely a network/location related issue now

If you can create a VM of another kind of OS (windows/linux) and reproduce then it's less likely an OS issue (but if you use the same machine it could be a machine issue = better to also reproduce on another machine too

Update 1: Which is why you might need to try different qualities and see which one got issue or not

while I haven't encountered the reload to 360p so far, I have a new problem that I encountered just today wherein I was playing my playlist and when the video ends it won't reload to the next video

Might be sponsorblock? saw earlier in another video in the logs that there was a preview and it was mark as error, i just forgot to save it
