They aren't affected by filters, don't turn yellow if they're highlights and can't be paged through.

Hmm... this is a regression, then, because that's a bug I already fixed once. Are these limited to PDF annotations or all annotations?

I caught it on my dev instance and the stanford.lacunastories.com site (without the PDF updates) on non-PDF annotations. If you're not seeing it happen I can take a look again tomorrow!

I can confirm this one. Should be something with the filters.
