@martinholmer thank you for the test. The issue here stems from the income tax calculation Neither PE nor TAXSIM assign any credits and we align on the taxable income amount of $ 128,550 We then apply the 6.9% tax rate and subtract $599 to get to the $ 8,270.95 which we get in PE |

@PavelMakarchuk, Why did you not fill out the MT tax form in discussion topic #4167 for married filing separately? Don't you need to compare the married filing jointly and the married filing separately tax liabilities in order to know what this couple owes Montana? |

The following integration test fails. It is not yet known whether the
tax logic problem is in TAXSIM35 or in the current PEUS code, or
whether there are problems in both models. This topic is meant to
facilitate discussion of why this test fails, primarily by reporting
the results of hand calculations required to fill out the relevant tax
form.
