Prithvi is a Google Chrome extension that performs a very simple task that has far reaching consequences. It shows you a list of sustainable options for what you just googled. Prithvi is designed to give you the best eco-friendly results for all your product searches. It makes finding numerous eco-friendly alternatives much easier and faster. Our team aims to help you make your life greener and make the planet healthier, with just one extra click.

Since the extension has not been published on the Chrome Webstore yet, this is how you can upload it on Chrome and try it out for yourself!
- Download the ZIP file of the source code from Github here and extract the files on your computer.
- Go to chrome://extensions/
- Turn on "Developer Mode" in the top right corner of the webpage.
- Click on "Load unpacked" in the top left corner.
- Select the "src" folder in "prithvi-main" folder which you have extracted in Step 1.
- You have successfully added our extension!
- Find Prithvi in your Extensions list in the top right corner of your browser and pin it for easy access.

Whenever a user searches something to buy, using keywords such as “buy”, “price” “amazon”, or something similar, Prithvi sends a notification reminding the user that green alternatives are just a click away!

Our design consists of a pop-up dialog box. It displays a scrollable list of eco-friendly alternatives from various sites. The products’ name, price, image and a link to the product is displayed.

There is a search box embedded in the pop up window itself, in which the user can search for any other product too.
- There is also an option to search by a specific site. In our MVP, we have displayed 4 such sites, namely Ecohoy, Wudbox, Geosmin and SaveGlobe.
Here is what the extension offers
- Sustainable options of search results: Clicking on the extension displays all the sustainable options for the search just made.
- Pop up window: Clicking on the extension displays a new popup window with the desired result
- Links to verified eco friendly products: The links displayed are from a trusted database of products and companies that care about the cause.
- Free of charge: Our Google Chrome extension is completely free of charge. We connect consumers to eco-friendly products without charging any money from either the consumer or the supplier.
- Accessibility to the masses: Our idea is a simple Google extension. Thus it is available and accessible by anyone that owns a device that has the Chrome browser.
- Easy usage: The extension is extremely easy to use. You just have to search for your product on google, like you normally would, and they would be given all the eco-friendly alternatives in a pop up window.
- Privacy: The user’s data is safe and secure with us. There will be no third-party access to information.
- Lightweight: The size of the program is small and doesn’t require much space in the device at all.
