Cooldown Mapping for Application Commands

I have made custom cooldowns for regular prefix commands but my code requires ctx.message which the ApplicationContext class does not have. I was wondering any alterations I could make to my code in order to let it support slash commands.

    new_mapping = commands.CooldownMapping.from_cooldown(newrate, newper, bucket)

            bucket = new_mapping.get_bucket(ctx.message)

        else:
            bucket = default_mapping.get_bucket(ctx.message)
        if retry_after := bucket.update_rate_limit():
            raise commands.CommandOnCooldown(bucket, retry_after, BucketType.user)
        return True
    
    return inner
