Hexadecimal, byte string endianness

Hi,

I am looking for a new, more enhanced calculator or tool that can work well with "byte strings" and covers operations like changing the endianness resp. the byte order interpretation. Like the windows calculator qalculate shows a panel and support bitwise operations. I see that qualculate can work with byte strings e.g. hex("01 00 00 00") = 0x01000000, but it looks like it assumes the byte string is always big endian (most significant byte is left).

I most probably do not know all present operations, but is there a way ...?

• to define what byte order the given string has (e.g. hex("01 00", endianness))
• to do a byte order changing between little endian and big endianness (e.g. to hex(reversed))
• to do word-wise (2-byte, 4-byte, n-byte) swapping (e.g. to hex(with n-byte swapping))
