Estimated release - what’s left to be done? #28

I eager to finish this up to a certain point and help with it so what’s left to be done?

Hey! Still a few more maps to go -- mostly in E4 -- but a few folks are chipping away and I just picked up my tools and got to tinkering again. :P

Quick-n-dirty summary of what's left, map-wise:

  • H3M2 and H3M3 could use some spruce-ups, since they're pretty basic -- Serge Jaeken returned and picked up M2, M3 is still up for grabs
  • The second half of H4M2 (from the "escher stairs" and beyond) could use a gameplay polish pass, I haven't poked at it yet
  • H4M6 needs thingplacement -- it's structurally+visually complete, though one major change I wanted to make was to have the three "tombs" in the central atrium be locked by keys, rather than switches; would make the progression flow a lot better.
  • H4M5 and H4M8 are works-in-progress, I'm greedy and have those claimed ATM :P
  • H4MX is unfinished but its author resurfaced recently (https://www.doomworld.com/profile/10563-pieruskwurje -- same fellow, new username); gotta reach out and see if they're up for picking it up again :D
  • I've got a few ideas for updating H2M3 that I might do as a 'stretch goal', got sort of a dome cathedral plan in my head with a lil' water-raising puzzle (obligatory :P ).

Beyond that... well, general playtesting and bugfixing and all that good stuff. But once the above are addressed then it'll probably be well enough for a public beta. It's way closer to completion than anyone realizes, I think. ;)

@Tormentor667 if you're eager to jump back in, would you be up for taking a look at H3M3 perhaps? It needs some ammo rebalancing and could use a visual polish pass (lighting, bit of detail, more "cool factor", to use the very silly phrase I've been tossing around for this project :P :P), but is playable start-to-finish otherwise so there aren't a ton of hidden to-dos in someone's head. :P -- H3M1 and H3M4 have been overhauled so they're a good visual reference for the episode theme at this point.
