How to install additional dependency ?

I am trying to implement password strength meter feature. For this task I require to install a dependency by dropbox called "zxcvbn". The problem I am facing is that when I install zxcvbn in the root directory the website is crashing showing the error zxcvbn not found. Is there additional steps for installing dependency if yes what ? . I am using yarn add to install dependencies. Thank you in advance for replying.
