This manual will guide you through the steps to add wireless charging to your bGeigieNano device. This charging module was initially designed to be used with the bGeigieCast, so the device can be charged while staying waterproof, but with wireless charging, you can also easily charge your bGeigieNano without the need to take out your old cables!
- A fully assembled bGeigieNano
- Universal Qi Wireless Receiver Module
- For this manual we used one from Adafruit
- Soldering station, to connect the receiver to the bGeigieNano
- Some tape (double-sided or other) to fix the receiver in place
For the charging part, Safecast designed a charging dock for the bGeigieNano in combination with a specific wireless charger. The dock is recommended, but not required.
- For the dock:
- EnergyPad Fast Qi
- 20 cm of 6mm diameter bar (can be aluminum, carbon fibre or ABS)
- 3D printer (or have the part 3D printed a shop)
- Other Qi charging options if you don't need the dock:
- A standing charger like Anker (Amazon)
- Any other Qi charger, preferably with 10W output
