Notes from May 28th call with @nokton:

  • Philosophically we don’t average
  • Want to show latest
  • But also need to account for time of day differences
    • 12p map
    • 12a map
    • Possibly a snapshot per hour that could be played back
      • Taiwan team does this but they only have to deal with one timezone
  • Also a “where you are”
    • Probably pretty empty, but just latest measurements in a geo bound
Not “safecast devices” (like bgeigie), “devices that post to safecast” (airnote, maybe purple air, maybe taiwan)

Point from @jamoross is that it might be best to start where you are then compare the same time of day across the globe.

Assigning @mbatran given his work on mapping so far. @mbatran if you'd rather leave this unassigned that's fine too.

@jamoross had some good ideas on this front in today's sync meeting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USMrK0wHTkQ
