Screencast.2025-01-18.16.34.37.mp4

Previously, i tried to load a video in order to preview it, but the video not only waited for too long but it still didn't play for me, because it had been found that the play button was greyed out and unable to be played after extended periods of time.

Please help fix this issue in schildichat desktop as soon as possible, this bug is non existent in element desktop.

This will not help you motivate me to look into your issues. This is just a hobby project, and since we didn't touch that part of the code it's still likely either some Element bug or a server issue.

NO, this bug has been found nonexistent in element and yet we still cannot understand why this problem still exists in schildichat but not in other matrix-based clients.

Please provide at least your SchildiChat version. If you read up to #263 and know that's not the case, you surely run either a homeserver with authenticated media disabled (which is not the default nowadays), or a beta prerelease of SchildiChat?

if that is in element then it would have already played properly. we did test other clients (e.g. cinny, ....) and also found that this problem didn't happen. so that could only be one thing that it is must have been HIGHLY RELATED to issues within schildichat itself.

SchildiChat version: 1.11.36-sc.3
Olm version: 3.2.14

That's an old version, and known to cause issues with media and recent homeservers. Duplicate of #263.

Please read up on that issue, it is explained there. The latest stable release is quite outdated, that's correct.
