Problems

  • If I resize the "Select area" window, it's hard to select because it's too small to see.
  • If I maximize the "Select are" window, I can't see the area I want to select.

Is it possible to make the selecting area step similar to simplescreenrecorder (only border with transparent background)?

Stacks

  • Ubuntu 22.04
  • Windowing System X11
  • Single monitor

I see this as a problem too. But, I think the current best "solution" is to have the right balance of the window size to properly select an area and, simultaneously, still see the area to be selected.

Implementing something similar to simplescreenrecorder is possible, in fact, it was actually how the area was selected before, but it was replaced due to Wayland's limitations, Kooha being a Wayland-first recorder.
