Really glad I found your project, I've been struggling for weeks trying to find a smart plug for our old 240v dryer and ran across this which has given me some hope I'll be able to get my girlfriend notifications when the dryer is done. Any suggestions on easiest way to get this to send an announcement to Alexa that it's started or finished? I see there's quite a few options in the settings but not used any of them, so if anyone curre tky had it working and could point me to which would be the least headache/ easiest to setup I'd appreciate it.

While I don't have an Alexa device, I think this is a great idea that some developer might want to tackle.

I see a forum thread here that mentions several ways to get a Raspberry Pi to speak from an Alexa device. https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=251534

I think i found a way without having to do all the extra software but have a question on your code. If I input a ifttt channel does it send both start and finish to the same channel? Is there anyway to have 2 channels listed and have start to one and finish to the other? If that's possible it should work with Alexa out of the box

The code currently sends all IFTTT messages through the same transport.
