We had always envisioned that students would be able to create their own tasks and submit them to be rated by a teacher. The Task Library (#536) could be used by students or teachers to “clone” tasks. Students could use the library or create their own tasks from scratch. They could add their own evidence, update the tasks status, rate themselves, and submit the task for review. Those ratings wouldn't be final until a teacher validates it.
Related to this is that students would be able to upload their own evidence directly to the competency dashboard. The difference would be that tasks could be created within a slate section and managed there by the student and the teacher. There might be other times where students complete work totally outside of the slate platform and they want to submit that work for review. That would happen in the competency dashboard.
In both cases, students would choose the teacher that would validate the work. This would then show up in the recent activity dashboard for #619.
