Delta to axis is super choppy

Is there any way to make the delta to axis a bit smoother? I'm trying to use my mouse movements as the right stick to look around, but its very choppy. Also, it seems really difficult to only partially move the stick with the mouse. When I increase or decrease the sensitivity, it's like its just setting a min and max, and any amount of mouse movement just goes fully to either side.
