It will still work the same. To get rid of the error just replace

blur = yes
blur_size = 7
blur_passes = 3
blur_new_optimizations = off

with

blur {
  enabled = yes
  size = 7
  passes 3
  new_optimizations = false
}

I just tried it and @slekup is right but it's new_optimizations = 0 and not false

According to the docs, booleans can be true or false, yes or no, or 1 or 0. So, it's up to preference.
It would probably be slightly less confusing if it was more strict with that.
