Currently there is the problem with taxa that have coordinate OTUs, of which TaxonPages picks the one with the highest number. If this is deleted, e. g. to cure display issues (missing pictures or links to sounds) then the URL of this taxon changes. The coordinate OTU with the lowest number always has all the data.
We need to start exposing the UUIDs perhaps if we're going to cite individual taxon concepts. They will be more "stable" than internal OTU ids. Note that we (SFG) are not claiming any particular level of stability for URLs we've derived.
