Can't send special characters using HTTP

I don't know if this is known or not, but copy-cat can't receive special characters like × and drawing characters. I don't know what characters exactly it can't receive but at least those. They just get replaced by "?". (they work/print fine when they're backslash codes though so it's not the font)
