Ratings - Display Scores & Age Ratings at the top of your streams in Stremio #792
Comments
Just commenting to refresh the listing (had some strange symbols in the description which I've removed). |
The MyAnimeList rating doesn’t seem to be working during my testing |
Thanks. Could you please give an example of a movie where you would expect to see this rating? |
Well im trying an anime since its myanimelist but I see that you have excluded anime in the LABELS. If you dont have plans for integrating anime rating then you could remove the option from the addon but it would be nice to have it working. |
You can choose exactly which ratings you want to appear (and in what order) with Pro. Please return to the config page and add it - then reinstall 👍 |
Im still getting no results for anime. Lets take an anime “Attack on titan” for example. When i select attack on titan on stremio and then go to season 1 and then episode 1, the ratings pro addon shows “Movie or show unavailable “. But in the “check your preview” section of the addon configuration page it shows 4 ratings( MyAnimeList, TMDB, Trakt, Popcornmeter) for the show Attack on titan. |
It seems the issue only happens when I click on an anime from the catalogs on the homescreen. But when i search the anime and then click on the episode it works fine just as you have shown in the screenshot. I tested multiple anime and they were all fine when i searched for them from the searchbar but when i clicked on then from the homescreen catalogs the rating addon still shows “Movie or show unavailable “ |
What addon / catalog are you using? |
Ive tested with “Anime Catalogs” and “Anime Kitsu” catalog addons |
Thanks. I'm seeing the same issue with "Anime Catalogs". So it is something to do with the way these addons are spitting out the catalogs. It could take some time for me to look into this and see if I can fix it 👍 |
Alright👍. Thanks for the addon. |
How do you get ratings pro?? The addon just has a free 7 day trial, no link/website to purchase or get an api key. Couldn't find a link/website here or on google, either. Thanks! |
@Germsicle Do you see this popup when you click the "Try Ratings Pro" button?: We are not offering Ratings Pro at the moment (until everything is working). But everyone can try it out til end of February 2025 with that license key. Please also re-read the main post above (I've added lots more useful information). Thanks 👍 |
Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I will be able to get the addon to work on these catalogs, as these catalogs do not use IMDb IDs, but a different kind of ID. For example, "Attack on Titan" - the IMDb ID for this is "tt2560140", but these addons have the ID "7442". I don't know what these IDs are, or if there is a way to convert them to IMDb IDs (which I need, to get the movie & age rating information). However, I've reached out to the developer here. So let's see if they respond... |
Addon results always shows on bottom of all other addons regardless of the addon list order. This wasn't happening a few hours ago. When I first installed it the results would show on the top of the results when the addon was on the top of the addon list. I am experiencing this same issue on multiple Stremio accounts. |
Unfortunately, @TwiztidJuggla420 , the Mac & Windows apps do not respect the installation order of stream addons (although the other platforms do). I reported this as a bug yesterday, and the dev said:
So, hopefully once they have finished updating the Mac & Windows apps, these apps will also respect the addon installation order. |
@stremioratings Sorry, I wasn't aware that you were already aware of this issue. It is strange the initially the Windows app was respecting the order of the addons. I haven't had any issues with any other addons not respecting the list order on the Windows app. By the way I really like the idea of your addon. I actually suggested it to the RPDB dev a few months ago, but I think he said it wouldn't be easy to implement content ratings. |
@TwiztidJuggla420 yes I'm quite baffled by the ordering on Mac and Windows. Sometimes it seems to be random, and sometimes it seems to be in reverse order. Yes I imagine age ratings would be very difficult for RPDB, especially if he wants to support multiple countries. It would exponentially multiply the number of images he would need to create for each poster. |
@stremioratings For what it's worth I just installed Stremio 5.0 Beta to test and they seem to have fixed the issue in the new beta. Ratings is back at the top when using the beta. |
@TwiztidJuggla420 that's really great to know! Hopefully the Mac beta is out soon 👍 |
They are kitsu IDs, https://kitsu.app/anime/7442. I had to test different sites. Hope it helps👍👍 |
@Inferno-hash Thanks! I think I got it working (in 1.0.59)! Please uninstall, reinstall 1.0.59 and let me know how it goes 👍 |
It is indeed working. Its also working in the older version(1.0.56). Thanks |
Amazing! Please consider giving the main post above a 👍 |
Of course |
I think the addon is great, however I personally think AT LEAST MyAnimeList should be for free users, especially those who mostly just watch anime through Stremio. I don't mind anything else though, great stuff. |
@DrekAnon I'm currently working on changing the Basic offering, so that you will be able to choose any 3 scores, and 1 age rating. Hoping to publish this change this week 👍 |
@stremioratings Do you have a changelog somewhere? How do we know if we are running the newest version? I have a suggestion that maybe you could add the current version information somewhere in the config page so we will be able to tell if you have pushed a newer version than what we already have installed. Thanks. |
@TwiztidJuggla420 good idea. I'll add that 👍. I have just pushed a (breaking) update. I'll copy the post from Reddit to here in a minute. |
Ratings 1.0.64 has just been published, with the following updates. This is a breaking change so please read the steps below to "start from scratch". (1) Ratings Basic (FREE) - Choose any 3 Scores & any 1 Age Rating Now with Ratings Basic (FREE) you can choose any 3 Scores (from Metacritic, Metacritic User, Rotten Tomatoes, Popcornmeter, IMDb, Trakt, TMDB, Letterboxd, Roger Ebert, MyAnimeList) & any 1 Age Rating (Country Age Rating or Common Sense Media). Example: (2) Added Support for Anime Catalogs and Anime Kitsu Ratings now works with the Stremio Addon Catalogs Anime Catalogs and Anime Kitsu. This is great if you're a fan of Anime and the MyAnimeList score: (3) Improved the Config Page - Added Clarity The Ratings config page has been improved, hopefully making it very clear what is included in both Basic & Pro. If you think it still needs some work, please add a comment on the Community Addons Github (see below). This update is a breaking change. Therefore, you will need to "start from scratch" by following these steps:

It would be really helpful if you could play around with both the Basic and Pro versions. And you can still click Try Ratings Pro to get a FREE Pro license key which is valid til the end of February 2025. If you like the updates, please consider giving it a 👍 on the opening comment of this GitHub page. This will help us out a lot: Configure and install the Ratings addon here: |
UPDATE: An update on the Letterboxd scores. These were previously on a scale of 1-10 (instead of 1-5 as they are on the official Letterboxd website). The scores were actually on this scale of 1-10 in the MDBList API. I reached out to Linas from MDBList and he corrected the scores (they are now on a scale of 1 - 5). I created an update to account for this change, however I'm currently unable to deploy this version (getting errors with deployment). I will try again later, but for now, until I can publish 1.0.66, the Letterboxd color-coding (and "score in percent") will be incorrect. Cheers 👍 |
Was it you that asked about watch providers on Reddit? Unfortunately it's not possible to display images in the stream box - only plain text and emojis. Although I'm considering adding the watch providers to the "show all ratings" page. I will put a post out and see if more people are interested in that. 👍 |
No it was not me. Ok no problem |
Ratings Addon v1.0.78 has just been published. This update will break the addon for all users. You will probably see something like this: ![]()
![]()
This update adds some caching capabilities to the addon - which should (hopefully) improve the speed that the addon loads when you click on a movie / show. This update could cause problems (and could crash the addon entirely) so please let us know if you spot any issues. We'll keep an eye on it and fix ASAP if it breaks. Thanks to all your 👍's, Ratings Addon is now ranked #12 on Stremio Community Addons. If you want to cast a 👍, you can do this on the main post (at the top of this page). ![]() The Ratings Addon config page is here: https://47623cd32ba8-stremio-addon-ratings.baby-beamup.club/ A quick question... A couple of users have asked about displaying Watch Providers in the addon. It wouldn't be possible to display these in the stream box itself (because the text would take up too many lines - and it's not possible to display images in the stream box - so we can't display the logos here either). However, one thing we could do is display the Watch Providers on the Show All Ratings page (that's displayed when you click on the addon). This would look something like this: Is this a feature you would be interested in? Also, would you be interested in other information being displayed on this page? Here are some things that could potentially be displayed here:
Cheers! |
Ratings Addon 1.0.84 has just been published with new features for the (now renamed) All Ratings & Details Page - the page that appears when you click on the addon in Stremio (with Pro). (1) Details (for Movie/Show) You can now display a Details block on the All Ratings & Details Page. For a Movie, this will show (if available):
For a TV Show, this will show (if available):
(2) Overview (for Movie / Show) You can now display an Overview block on the All Ratings & Details Page. This will display the Overview & Tagline for the current Movie / Show: (3) Configure All Ratings & Details Page Not interested in these new blocks for the All Ratings & Details Page..? Not a problem... Because the All Ratings & Details Page can now be completely configured. You can choose exactly which blocks you want on this page (and in which order). And you can even Preview the page before you install the addon: This update will most likely break the All Ratings & Details Page for you. Please return to the Ratings Addon Config Page, reconfigure and reinstall. If you have any problems, scroll to the very bottom & click Clear Site Data. More configurable blocks for this page will be coming soon! Ratings now has over 300 users & is ranked #10 on Stremio Community Addons! If you want to help us get to number 9, please give a 👍 on the first post at the top of this GitHub page. Thanks for using Ratings 👍 |
