  • move some checkin burden to a preregistration form
    • leverage qr codes for checking people in (if preregistered–or even if they have a tech@nyu account but have not preregistered for the specific event; the qr code could be account specific)
  • birthdays + n-numbers make decent, memorable passwords

Other notes:

  • The original event signin proposal actually had a clever mechanism for dealing with duplicate email addresses. We might be able to combine that with birthday passwords to handle non-NYU students in a nice way (for NYUers, though, we still need N Numbers off their ids)
  • For any facebook sign in, we need a plan if, on the public computer, facebook thinks the sign in is suspicious and asks them to verify their identity. (The plan should probably be: step to the side and use your own device.)
