The only other mods I have for this test is NEI and its dependencies. This was tested only in a single-player world.
Summary
Right clicking a fluid tank with a stack of buckets gives you back an invisible version fluid bucket that is not always fully functional.
To Reproduce
More specifically:
Right-clicking a bucket of water into a Basic Fluid Tank empties the bucket and puts 1000mB of water into the tank, as expected.
Right-clicking the tank again with a single empty bucket retrieves the water from the tank and puts a water bucket into your inventory, as expected.
The bug:
Right-clicking a fluid tank that has water with a stack of empty buckets removes the water from the tank, and consumes a bucket from the stack, as expected. However, you get back some form of the water bucket which is invisible.
In order to make it visible again, you have to do one of the following:
Click on the inventory slot containing the invisible filled bucket
Drop the invisible filled bucket
Right-click on a GUI block such as a crafting table
Sign out and sign back in
Mousewheel over the invisible bucket if it's in your hotbar and attempt to pour it out with a right-click.
Doing this last option does not place water like a filled bucket would, but instead seems to make the bucket appear into your hand as though you just picked it up. This indicates that whatever invisible item you're getting back isn't otherwise identical to a water bucket.
Right-clicking into thin air with this invisible item does nothing.
Right-clicking a fluid tank with this invisible item places the water into the tank and gives you back an empty bucket, as expected.
This appears to be an issue in every release.
Expected behavior
The fluid-filled bucket should be popped into your inventory and be fully visible and otherwise fully functional.

Well I certainly would rather have dupe prevention than this really specific oddity to be fixed. This is nowhere near as important as the tank capacity bug!
Thanks for looking into these and replying so quickly.
