I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max w/iOS 18, .heic files taken with it do not convert.

The error is

Invalid input: Unspecified: Metadata not correctly assigned to image (2.0)

I found a similar issue with ImageMagick, so it may be related to the libraries being used in File Converter (just a guess)
ImageMagick/ImageMagick#7426
