Error on startup

Extraction and make work without a problem, but then when I attempt to run the wii-u-gc-adapter program, I get this, which continues infinitely:

error writing uinput device settingsconnecting on port 0

I am on Xubuntu 18.04 LTS.

Are you running the program as root?

I just pushed a change, can you try it with that and see if it works? If not, does it display a different error?

Hey Toad! That ended up working to start the program (d'oh), and it worked for a few days- but now I'm having a bigger, more severe issue that I'm going to put in a separate post.
