Deal with jumping into the middle of the app

We're having issues if an owner is logged in and goes straight to (for example) the add note page from a new tab

Jumping to the add-note page without going through the Owner DoorBoard page first makes the add-note page not work. Pushing the 'add note' button does nothing, however the cancel button will redirect you. This seems to only happen when you jump in from a new tab that has not gone to the Owner DoorBoard previously.
