BEA no longer provides the source for state employment data. The specific table used (SAEMP25) was discontinued by BEA this fall (see here, click "State and Local").

In ‎getStateEmploymentbyBEASummary, flowsa data are already used to fill data gaps. We can shift to using the flowsa FBS (via BLS_QCEW) as the primary source.

Alternate suggestion includes using SAINC7 - wages and salaries by industry or SAINC6 - compensation of employees by industry; both are proxies of state level output by industry
