BEA no longer provides the source for state employment data. The specific table used (SAEMP25) was discontinued by BEA this fall (see here, click "State and Local").

In getStateEmploymentbyBEASummary, flowsa data are already used to fill data gaps. We can shift to using the flowsa FBS (via BLS_QCEW) as the primary source.
Alternate suggestion includes using SAINC7 - wages and salaries by industry or SAINC6 - compensation of employees by industry; both are proxies of state level output by industry
