The release tag v0.0.1 has been made together with a budgie-desktop-environment package which can be installed on a debian testing release https://github.com/UbuntuBudgie/debian-bde/releases/tag/v0.0.1

Do give your thoughts - please try the .deb package. The default apps in the package are described here https://github.com/UbuntuBudgie/debian-bde/blob/main/debian/control

This has been tested on Debian testing via the netinst install - no prior desktop environment was installed.

From our view point current issues include that we would like to somehow hide the gnome help menu option and the gnome-settings menu option. Debian though doesn't behave like Ubuntu where we would normally add NoDisplay entries in .desktop files in /usr/share/budgie-desktop/applications - maybe this is not supported capability in Debian?

The eventual idea is to begin the process to upload to Debian so that budgie-desktop-environment is installable straight from the Testing repo.
