For instance, a member is marked as having attended the training lecture ('Studio Trained'). While the button 'Get Demoed' appears on the MyRadio main menu, clicking the link results in a 403. Manually adding the permission does work.

So it looks like I was completely wrong earlier, and paying is currently a prerequisite. This is stupid. Please slap me for whenever I did this.

It may be worthwhile making the demo page temporarily all-users enabled
