How to make modifications?

I was able to successfully compile the APK, but my main goal was to modify Super Mario 64 to create a multiplayer game, just for personal use. My problem is I couldn't modify even the simplest parameters for my purposes. I don't know how to change Mario's position or replace the touchpad with my own. I'd be grateful if you could help me.
