Mura compensation breaks when going from Desktop Mode to Game Mode after updating to 3.6 #1700

Your system information

  • Steam client version: 1726683985
  • SteamOS version: 3.6.19
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: No
  • Opted into SteamOS beta?: No
  • Have you checked for updates in Settings > System?: Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Expected behavior: The faint noise/mura/smoke on the screen is not visible.
Actual behavior: The faint noise/mura/smoke on the screen is visible.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Power on the Steam Deck.
  2. Make sure that during bootup and game start (or any other occasions where the rest of the screen is black) the faint noise/mura/smoke on the screen is not visible.
  3. Go to the Desktop Mode.
  4. Switch back to the Game Mode using the shortcut on the desktop or by going to the Applications Menu, pressing Leave and then Log Out.
  5. Notice the faint noise/mura/smoke on the screen is visible during the switch (when the Steam Deck logo appears) and game startup as well as any other occasions where the screen is black (or should be black).

Well I didn't have such an issue back on SteamOS 3.5, so I won't consider this a duplicate
