[Feature Request] Additional options for Message Logger plugin #989
Comments
You know what would be cool is for option A to make the "Edited" text actually useful you could click on that and it show the full history |
Something like "[toggle] Log edited messages"? If so i already hava an PoC branch for it |
I really wish we had an option to receive notifications for deleted and edited messages from servers of choice as well as an option to view a log of every message that was deleted and edited in a chosen server. The majority of the time, I don't even know what's been deleted before what was temporarily logged gets deleted itself because there isn't a way to be notified for other channels and servers nor a way of viewing everything that was logged. Notifications and a log would provide much needed quality of life to Message Logger. |

I find that I don't care when people edit their messages, I mainly use the message logger plugin to keep track of deleted messages.
With that in mind, I find it quite annoying to have to
right click
->remove message history
for messages, as the circles I find myself in tend to edit their messages 3, 4, 5, even 6+ times in some cases, and it can become quite spammy.The ideal solution I have in mind would be to either:
A: Have a toggle in the plugin's settings that hides message edit history by default, then gives you the option to
right click
->show message edits
. This would be my preferred solution.B: Have a toggle in the plugin's settings to just disregard message edits, and only log message deletions. This solution would be more simple to implement I believe, but would also not be as good as option A
