as community manager, developer advocate, release manager, I want a way to judge if people increase or decrease their activity cycle per cycle... and it's pretty hard to see with the current charts.

Current intervals used to get trends are not customizable out of the box. My proposal here is to add customizable intervals so you could have trends for something like: one month, six months and 1 year for each contributor. Would it be useful for the purpose you mention?

I'm not sure I understand what you have in mind. Can you provide a mockup for what you have in mind?
