The iTunes Top 100 should be loaded on demand, either when clicked on the welcome screen or when the button is pressed in the toolbar if the library already exists.

Regarding the downside (long loading time when launching Vocal for the first time) you've mentioned:
I think we could just show a generic image (either this one or a new "Loading" image) until the actual thumbnail has loaded. This way the user won't have to wait a long time and can start adding podcasts immediately.
