There is a lot of inconsistent naming through the repository probably as it has been written by lots of people guessing the answers to some questions below.

@ericnitschke What are your opinions on:

  • Is it "nimble" or "Nimble"?
  • Should we ever say "the nimble"
  • Should we ever say "nimble rack"
  • Also when we say "nimble is a ..." what is it? "A mesh network"? "A mesh networking node" "a box of networking gubbins"

@jmwright may have some more questions.

Thanks, @julianstirling. At some point for design purposes we switched from Nimble to nimble, but moving forward Nimble is fine. The Nimble is also fine. 'Nimble rack' can be used to help folks understand how it can be used as a mini server rack.

Never heard 'gubbins' before - but it's a great name for either a new model or mascot.

The Nimble is an open hardware project that seeks to enable communities around the world to build and manage their own network infrastructure and services. For simplicity, it could be described as an open source, offline-first, portable mesh network.
