Offset in the fine tuning area

Hi,
Have you thought of introducing a offset in the fine tuning area? Right now It is covered by the finger.

Google Drive for example use a small dynamic square in the top of the screen.

I just realized that It is possible to move the vertices pressing near not just on them. So the fine tuning It is perfect, however maybe more user could have the same problem finding this funtionality. Could be nivel yo avoid this in some way.
