Folder Comparison Issues #2584

When I compare the files in 2 folders at the folder level, it compares accurately

However, when I run a compare at a higher level with many sub-folders, the "left" date and size will not appear and it thus says the files are all different - but in a manual compare, they are the same..

I have rebooted.

Any ideas?

This did work fine before and I am using the same drives. Driving me batty.

Thanks.

Could you please attach a screenshot of the actual results?
Also, could you please tell me the full path of the two folders you compared to confirm whether you are comparing special folders?

Perhaps you attached the images to your email reply, but unfortunately we were unable to see them.
Could you please attach them to the following GitHub URL?

Thank you for attaching the image.
I created a similar folder structure as shown below and tried comparing it, but the problem could not be reproduced.

image

Does the folder 'C:\Users\JoeKN\Documents~~Joe Stuff~~buildings~~buildings\JAKE Management LLC~7100 Center\2022 available' actually exist?
If it does not exist, Left Date and Left Size will not be displayed.

It is also possible that the information cannot be viewed due to the access rights set for the folder. Check the Security tab of the folder's properties.

The situation may change if you start WinMerge with administrator privileges and compare the folders.
