The "quick edit" functionality from the Post sand Page list views is also present on the Templates list:

We should probably disable this for now.

  • Changing a template name will break how it functions. We do not currently allow template renaming elsewhere in the UI.
  • Changing the publish date / status seems low-value for templates.
  • Password protecting a template doesn't make much sense.
  • Once all templates are listed on this view (Update Appearance > Templates to list all templates #35994) it will not be possible to quick edit theme or plugin supplied templates.
