In the KSM install documentation, there is a section Step 5 on Logging that goes into great detail for modifying rsyslog.d, setting up logrotate etc for /var/log/ykksm.log.
However, this is obsolete and based on old KSM code that logged to LOG_LOCAL0 by default.
In this commit from December 2012 (!) 6279082 , the default log facility was modified to be LOG_AUTH, meaning KSM messages are logged to /var/log/auth.log in Debian, and none of that logging configuration is necessary (or only necessary if the default LOG_AUTH is changed in ykksm-config.php)
