Einstellungen/Settings can't be accessed on macOS (Sonoma, 14.3)

Hi,

I'm not able to access the menu 'Einstellungen'/'Settings' in ZKN3 on macOS (Sonoma, 14,3). The 'Apple menu' bar doesn't contain it and the 'ZKN menu bar' neither. I've tried it with the latest Oracle SDK and with OpenJDK.

I've found some (older) hints on the Internet about this seemingly common problem and how to fix it in the source code. Is this problem known to you and is there already a solution implemented that I'm not aware of, e. g. a hotkey?

Starting the Zettelkasten Jar with 'java -Dapple.laf.useScreenMenuBar=true -jar original-Zettelkasten-3.2023.12.jar' puts the Applications menu bar in the 'Apple menu bar', but still there's not 'Einstellungen'/'Settings' menu entry.

How can I add this Menu to the menu bar on macOS?

Zettelkasten is supported on Java 8 only.

@schlesix Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this. (Sonoma 14.4.1)

NB. Have you tried the v3.2022.8?

I've tried v3.2022.8, but with openjdk version "21.0.2" 2024-01-16, not with Java 8. Meanwhile, I've found the Java 8 download location and installed it. I now have indeed the Preferences in the Zettelkasten App. Thank you for your help, Ralf!

I'm wondering if Java 8 is safe to use.
