Black has a flag --check so that it returns a non-zero status code when it detects something that needs reformatting. It would be nice if blacken-docs had this as well. If it had, it would be possible to include it into CI.

Ah, sorry, I've just searched again and found that this was requested already a couple of times. #91 is a good reference issue.

Turns out that what I want is already possible

note that you can already use the exit code (this tool returns nonzero when making changes)
