I get the same error too if I manually goto http://raspberrypi:8888/piface on my desktop.

I am able to connect from my laptop and phone with no problems so I stumped to why my desktop will not connect.

Worked out what the problem was for myself, my desktop is setup to use a proxy where my laptop and phone are not, so as soon told desktop not to use proxy for raspberrypi all was fine and dandy and working as should ;)

never got this error, and I can't reproduce it .. :(
Just update, now "check origin" always return True , maybe this can help

@adcomp tried you latest version, it didn't change anything for me, I still have to bypass the http proxy to be able to connect to the server. was worth a try though.
