New Database Updates

Posted notifications of Age Data received from Age & Growth that has been updated into the RACE database

Walleye Pollock ages for the 2023 Gulf of Alaska groundfish survey from the Alaska Provider (n = 899) were updated on May 21st

• Pacific Cod ages for the 2023 Gulf of Alaska groundfish survey from the Alaska Provider (n = 589) were updated on June 3rd
• Pacific Cod ages for the 2023 Gulf of Alaska groundfish survey from the Ocean Explorer (n = 548) were updated on June 3rd
• Yellowfin Sole ages for the 2023 Eastern Bering Sea groundfish survey from the Alaska Knight (n = 303) were updated on June 3rd
• Yellowfin Sole ages for the 2023 Eastern Bering Sea groundfish survey from the Northwest Explorer (n = 211) were updated on June 3rd

Just noting the addition of aged fish from prior seasons hitting during survey season. A reminder for all of us when we estimate the production age comps in the fall: the age-length key may change from the hindcast, along with the influence of the new compositional data. If something seems wonky the best thing to investigate first is to compare the difference in the age-length key with and without the addition of the new ages.
