Token approval process blocks

For each trade you first have to approve the outgoing token.
When doing this, a popup appears showing that you token approval is ongoing.
Although the approval tx is mined and confirmed, it seems that this approvals is not picked up by the AirSwap GUI.
The button does not change in "Stake".

A similar issue appeared 2 years ago and has been fixed then.
Unfortunately, I still get the error.

I managed to get it working the first time by changing the approval limit from the exact amount of my swap, to the default (infinite) value. This does not work this time, if I try that I only get failed transactions when trying to approve.
Would appreciate some help, and am willing to provide details and test of course!
Tried the usual stuff, erasing browser cache, restarting browser, connecting with different wallet. Nothing works...

Setup: Brave (chromium) v1.48.171 (Feb 23, 2023) on Windows 10 Pro
