Host
- If installing on a VM, enable nested virtualization
Set-VMProcessor -VMName ClusterNode1 -ExposeVirtualizationExtensions $true
- Simulate the multiple NICs by adding adapters from the host
Get-VM -Name ClusterNode1 | Add-VMNetworkAdapter -Name NIC2 -SwitchName "Internal(VMsAndHost)"
- MacAddress spoofing must be turned on for each nested host so that network traffic can flow
- Look in the vswitch to see what adapter it's using
- Run Get-NetAdapter to find the mac address of used adapter
- On the host one level up, run Get-VMNetworkAdapter, find the mac from step 2
- Use the command below to set spoofing on
Get-VMNetworkAdapter -VMName AdminServer | Where-Object -Property Name -eq "CPU SLOT 6 PORT 1" | Set-VMNetworkAdapter -MacAddressSpoofing On
- Or just do this on the Host
Get-VMNetworkAdapter -all | Set-VMNetworkAdapter -MacAddressSpoofing on
Cluster Machines and Admin Server
- Set ip address and machine name on server
- Run commands in ConfigureWinRm.ps1 to create cert and winrm connection
Add-VMNetworkAdapter -VMName ClusterNode1 -SwitchName "Internal(VMsAndHost)" -Name NIC1
Add-VMNetworkAdapter -VMName ClusterNode1 -SwitchName "Internal(VMsAndHost)" -Name NIC2
Add-VMNetworkAdapter -VMName ClusterNode1 -SwitchName "Internal(VMsAndHost)" -Name NIC3
Add-VMNetworkAdapter -VMName ClusterNode1 -SwitchName "Internal(VMsAndHost)" -Name NIC4
Add-VMNetworkAdapter -VMName ClusterNode1 -SwitchName "Internal(VMsAndHost)" -Name "SLOT 2 PORT 1"
Add-VMNetworkAdapter -VMName ClusterNode1 -SwitchName "Internal(VMsAndHost)" -Name "SLOT 2 PORT 2"
Build Server
- Added 10.10.5.* to trusted hosts on build machine
Set-Item WSMan:\localhost\Client\TrustedHosts "USS-*,10.10.5.*"
-* The certificates may not be needed if we trust all hosts
- Add certificates for all cluster nodes to trusted root store
- Run service as local admin. Invoke-Command doesn't work at Network Service
