Reproducible in the demo app?

Yes

Reproduction steps

  1. Add the attached HLS livestream to cast demo media sources
  2. Start playing it using local ExoPlayer
  3. Start casting the media

Expected result

The TimeBar in the UI has a draggable playhead that allows to seek backwards (as when playing this content locally without casting)

Actual result

The TimeBar has no draggable playhead, so it's impossible to seek backwards

This is not supported with CastPlayer. We are aware this is a missing feature. There is a pull request #475 to map the cast live window to the timeline.

This is currently not on the roadmap I'm afraid. We keep this issue open and update when there is news.
