🥳 🎂 🎈 A milestone to celebrate

Wow!
Today, go-jira reached 1k stars 🌟 .
We are overwhelmed.

When I started the project in August 2015, I never imagined that this would be useful to someone. 6 years in, I was proved wrong.
This project is used by small and big side projects and various businesses rely on go-jira for their automation

We have created a small community that

  • 👩‍💻 improves pull requests
  • 🐛 fill bugs
  • 👪 and help other people with code examples in our issue tracker

Thanks a lot, open-source lovers!
Without you, this project wouldn't have reached this point.

Thanks to @slashpai who was the 1.000's stargazer

📊 A few facts about go-jira

  • 114 contributor (from 18 timezones 🌎 )

  • 6,174 Clones (1,562 Unique cloners) in the last 14 days

The future of this project

Lately, there hasn't been much activity here.
That's sad, but that's also how is life and open-source.
However, we plan to revise the project and improve on the experience using go-jira.

The main focus points for the upcoming versions are:

  • Clear separation between JIRA Cloud and JIRA On-Premise
  • Support for auto-generated data struct fields
  • Easier integration of custom-fields
  • Flexible addition of query parameters for API requests
  • Proper reliability (e.g. by adding context) and better debugging possibilities

In #200 we summed up a few other ideas.

We plan to create a proper issue board and roadmap soon. Stay tuned.

Do you want to be involved?

If you want to contribute, there is are several ways (also next to writing code):

  • Improving the documentation
  • Writing blog posts about the usage of go-jira with examples
  • Going through issues and helping users
  • Testing pull requests and adding your results to the PR

Funding go-jira

Additionally, we are seeking funding for the upcoming versions.
If you or your company wants to be part of the open-source movement, this is a great opportunity.
With a small amount, you can have a big impact.

If you are interested in funding, please get in contact with us at andygrunwald (at) gmail (dot) com
