I would like to have (and contribute) cli functionality like in this https://github.com/ankitpokhrel/jira-cli project

• Ability to install cli through go install
• Scripting functionality

My solution is mostly like https://github.com/ankitpokhrel/jira-cli

But there will be difference:

• Only scripting capablity, not cli-ui like in the aforementioned project
• Useful scripting capablities (like getting some information through std-in) and outputting in json/other formats

Describe alternatives you've considered

Build my own CLI based on this project, but I don't like idea to duplicate "go-jira"-like projects

can you describe a bit more in detail what you mean with scripting capabilities?
Maybe by providing a few examples about your goals and what is missing in https://github.com/ankitpokhrel/jira-cli?

In general, we try to keep these kinds of functionality out of this project and act as a pure client library. Your use-case seems like a good approach by implementing andygrunwald/go-jira rather than integrating.

I am very sorry that this issue has been open for a long time with no final solution. We work on this project in our spare time, and sometimes, other priorities take over. This is the typical open source dilemma.

However, there is news: We are kicking off v2 of this library 🚀

The development will take some time; however, I hope you can benefit from the changes.

We will work on this issue indirectly.
This means that during the development phase, we aim to tackle it.
