From f682cc81a5aabba03156cbf66eae0df6cf0b0a12 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Vitalii Kozlovskyi Date: Mon, 23 Dec 2024 19:31:30 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] Clarify UFW documentation ufw -h explains commands like: enable enables the firewall disable disables the firewall reload reload firewall reset reset firewall The claim that "enabled" reloads anything is incorrect. Rules aren't reloaded. `ufw status` will show them, but iptables aren't updated. The part about "enabled"/"disabled" working "on boot" is incorrect either. Change is immediate and permanent. --- plugins/modules/ufw.py | 6 +++--- 1 file changed, 3 insertions(+), 3 deletions(-) diff --git a/plugins/modules/ufw.py b/plugins/modules/ufw.py index fba0ef5fe2f..10d9a216046 100644 --- a/plugins/modules/ufw.py +++ b/plugins/modules/ufw.py @@ -39,10 +39,10 @@ options: state: description: - - V(enabled) reloads firewall and enables firewall on boot. - - V(disabled) unloads firewall and disables firewall on boot. + - V(enabled) enables firewall. + - V(disabled) disables firewall. - V(reloaded) reloads firewall. - - V(reset) disables and resets firewall to installation defaults. + - V(reset) resets firewall to installation defaults. type: str choices: [ disabled, enabled, reloaded, reset ] default:
