Error after launch_fluent execution

Hello. I am launching fluent in meshing mode with a journal sucessfully. The journal runs and my mesh is valid. Upon completion, I get this error. This simply stops me from running the rest of my simulation automatically. Is there a way to solve it easily so that I do not have to manually interfere after the meshing phase?

@robcodesnew I haven't seen that issue before, but Fluent 2022 R1 is not supported, see the readme: "PyFluent supports Fluent 2022 R2 and later."

Can you try again with a more recent Ansys Fluent release?

OK, so this shows that there is most likely something wrong/unexpected inside that journal file that you are passing to Fluent, or there is some issue related to how you were launching Fluent previously, perhaps with the paths/working directories that you were using.

Try to work starting from the files that I provided, and figure out what change that you made that breaks execution.

The only trouble I have explaining this to be the issue is my journals are in a chain (i.e jorunal 1 has "read journal 2"at the end of it and so on) and the error only appears at the end of the cycle, not for every journal (my journals are all the same except they study different angles). If I open the first journal of the chain with the GUI, I don't get an issue all the way through. I willl however take the time to start from scratch with what you have given me. I sincerely appreciate the help

No problem at all, sorry that I can't help more.

What command are you using to read subsequent journals? Something like /file/read-journal "test2.jou"? I just tested and this also works fine on my end.

There has to be something wrong with your journal files, while playing around with this I noticed that if some commands inside the journal files are set incorrectly and fail to execute, then you can get all kinds of weird errors in PyFluent (not unlike the ones you shared in the original post).

@raph-luc can you confirm what the command is to close fluent in meshing mode? I have tried running my chain with empty journals (the last of which is simply the screenshot. This exit method works for solver mode but is it different in meshing? It seems to work fine when I use it in the GUI but it gives me the error we have been talking about when I run it.

@robcodesnew did you figure this out? Sorry, it seems that I missed the notification from your last message. /exit y should indeed exit out of meshing. I tested an isolated journal file with just

/file/set-tui-version "22.2"
/exit y

as well as a chain of journal files that ends with this one, and both still work fine with Fluent 2022 R2 on my end.

Note that running .jou journal files that end with /exit y may raise irrelevant errors in PyFluent (e.g. RuntimeError: failed to connect to all addresses) at the end of execution because PyFluent never gets to properly communicate with Fluent before it exits (as Fluent is always busy working through the journal file). Ideally you should cleanly shut down Fluent from PyFluent with session.exit() (assuming it was launched by PyFluent with cleanup_on_exit=True, which is the default).
