Context

  • Add-on Version: v7.0.9+beta.2 and v7.0.8 (see below)
  • Kodi Version: 21.0-Omega
  • Kodi GUI Language: Eng/CZ
  • Operating System: Coreelec (latest stable)
  • Operating System Language: Eng

Expected Behavior

Do not stuck KODI when playing youtube videos.

Current Behavior

For some time now, I've been experiencing KODI stuck primarily with specific videos that are in portrait format. Here is the log: https://paste.kodi.tv/aqexeyowid.kodi and here is the video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/N5TgJ61RN1DcoNbC9
Previously, the system would randomly get stuck when playing the video itself (no picture, after mnanual stopping the video the system would mostly stuck again) until version v7.0.8. (including).
Now in v7.0.9+beta.2 I play the video, it runs and when I hit stop the whole system gets stuck (only a reboot via power disconnect helps).

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Run video which is portrait mode (for example channel "Těhotnej kuchař" like in video provided)
  2. Stop video and get stuck KODI

Nothing to do with the plugin really.

Can you SSH into your device and type the following in when it freezes?
dmesg | paste

Paste the log link here if you can.

Dmesg here: https://paste.coreelec.org/TrashedShania
The strange thing is that it only appears on YouTube.

Can you also get the following?

cat ~/.kodi/temp/kodi_crash.log | paste

The strange thing is that it only appears on YouTube.

I use CoreELEC as well, albeit with a different device, and can't replicate this. Are you able to try downloading the video using youtube-dl/yt-dlp and playing the downloaded file using your device?

Latest crashlog is here: https://paste.coreelec.org/SedationBoxing

I can try download video and try to play. When i will come back, I'll do it - thank you for your time.

It's strange. The debug log cuts-off as if there has been a crash, and the debug overlay also stops updating, but there is no current crash log.

Aside from trying the downloaded video, would suggest trying a backup and clean (re-)install, to see if that changes anything. Otherwise I think the best next step would be to post your logs and seek assistance in the CoreELEC forum.

Thank you for your help. I've downloaded video via "youtube-dl/yt-dlp" https://mega.nz/file/rrYRmTTZ#fctREw9uprBdjvn07qO8RNUvUWWNoc1Jo1d1OcBjhRQ and it does the same problem like playing it via this Youtube plugin. I will report issue on Coreelec forum.
