I was wondering if this calendarserver is a good choice for now and the coming years. Especially since apple is dropping more and more support for OS etc. And eg. this issue #541, which sort of looks important but is not yet implemented.

Certainly a reasonable question. In my view, there's still a lot of value here, but I would be reluctant to advocate going forward with anything based on python 2 at this point. As a result, I feel like the 'value' is slowly turning into 'potential value'...
#541 should be an easy fix, provided the txdav.caldav.datastore.scheduling.imip tests all pass. Unfortunately the Travis CI integration formerly used by this repo is deprecated and broken, but I'm taking a super quick attempt at running the tests locally with the proposed change.
